As a researcher, the main goal of my work is to understand the geological processes controlling the evolution of the Earth. My work focuses, in particular, on the evolution of sedimentary basins. So far I have worked on a number of different processes using various data types and techniques. Learn more about my research here.
I come from a small town in the middle of Germany called Eisenach. After high school, I moved to Kiel in northern Germany, where I studied geophysics for five years. Afterwards, I did my PhD at Imperial College London. Another five years later, I moved to Norway, where completed a three year fellowship. Currently, I am back in Germany working as a researcher at GFZ Potsdam.
